If you love a nice café, sipping a latte, with some tasty cake. Seoul is spoilt with choices! Here are a few of the many that I stumbled upon in my trip! The locations are a bit spotty using google maps, but I have left their Instagram handle, if you want more details!

PERCEPTION

Nestled conspicuously on a corner of a side road, in the neighbourhood of Hapjeong. Is one of the most curious cafes in Seoul. With its stunning wooden ceiling, the wavy motifs carved above you, elude calm and relaxation. Perfect to enjoy a nice latte with a side of freshly baked goodies! They even sell their own variety of beans, if you want to take the taste back home! It’s not often you go to a café that have been awarded prizes for interior design, so sit back, and enjoy the view.

GREEM CAFE

From the zen, to the zany! Located not far from the bustling Hongdae district, this café is certainly made for social media! This 2D café is exactly what it sounds like…..it’s like walking into the pages of a comic book! The interior and furniture is all painted to resemble a black and white art book. Providing loads of opportunities for photos! Make sure to get there early, to enjoy it fully, as it does get busy quickly! A memorable café for sure!

Screme

When in Seoul, Gangnam is obviously one of the places to go! The stylish hotspot of the city is crammed with activity! Screme, a short walk from Gangnam station certainly has the look, thankfully, it also has the substance to match! It is tucked away on a side road, so it can be a pain to find, but it is worth it! The selection for cakes, freshly made, are a delight. Along with the variety of wonderfully sweet drinks menu (lets be honest, sweet is pretty much the standard in Seoul!). *insert joke about Gangnam Style*

My Routine

Taking an walk back from Perception, I passed by another picture book café, catching my attention! Even though I just had a drink, there’s always room for more…..My Routine has a wonderfully calming aura. bringing the feeling of a Parisian bakery into heart of Seoul! With it’s location on a fairly quite main road, makes this a peaceful sort for a break. With a vast selection of treats and drinks, this was a great little find. Knock this out with Perception, for a 2 for 1 trip!

Cat Playground (Myeongdong)

The streets of Myeongdong is full of wonders, the bustling shopping district has plenty spots for a drink. One of the many signs scattered across, pointed to one of the several cat cafes in the neighborhood!

Having never been to one before, this was a must! The café is located high above on the 2nd floor, but is home to a variety of felines, if I recall, up to 50! Most of the cats are very comfortable around people, and some will even approach you for a pet! You get a free drink with your entrance fee, in a lovely cat themed cup. You could easily spend an hour here!

Cheong Su Dang

Just around the corner from Greem Cafe, is another gem. Whereas Greem had an artistic flair, Cheongsudang is far more traditional. At first glimpse, it does look like a restaurant! With its waterfall windowfront, kneeling tables and zen garden aesthetics., this place feels far too fancy for a simple cup of coffee! The desserts there are amazing, especially if you have a soft spot for matcha! Though the prices do match the lavish interior….

Nakwon

The narrow streets of Ikseondong Hanok Village are crammed with little cafes and restaurants, so it would be easy to miss one amongst the crowd.

It’s probably easy to mistake Nakwon as some sort of left over train station, but it is a wonderfully charming railway station themed café. With its conveyor belt of desserts and it’s rotating departure board interior. It definitely gives the vibes of cosy tea break in an Asian train station.
