Our final stop on our trip through Kyoto, before heading off to Osaka, was the beautiful Kiyomizu-dera Temple in the eastern hills.
Nestled among glorious autumn foliage, this remarkable temple was originally built in 778! If you’re planning a trip to Kyoto outside the busy cherry blossom season, autumn is a stunning alternative. The vibrant shades of red and orange are absolutely mesmerizing, and the temple’s iconic wooden viewing platform offers a panoramic view of the entire hillside.
Kyoto has so many must-see sights, and as you can see from these photos, Kiyomizu-dera is truly a view to remember!
