Why KLCC Park is a Must-Visit Spot in Kuala Lumpur

KLCC Park ~ A Peaceful Escape in the Heart of Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur is a city that has it all, shimmering skyscrapers, bustling street markets, and rich cultural heritage. This vibrant capital of Malaysia combines the natural beauty of tropical landscapes with ultra-modern cityscapes. But amid all the excitement, sometimes you just need a calm escape.

One of the best free things to do in Kuala Lumpur is a visit to KLCC Park, a beautifully designed urban oasis right at the base of the world-famous Petronas Twin Towers.

Why Visit KLCC Park?

KLCC Park is more than just a patch of greenery in the city. Designed by Brazilian landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, the park covers 50 acres and was created to provide a balance of nature within the busy city center.

Here’s what makes it special:

  • 🌿 Lush Greenery: Over 1,900 native trees and plants create a peaceful atmosphere.
  • Lake Symphony: A man made lake with fountains that light up in the evening for a music and water show.
  • 🚶 Walking & Jogging Paths: Perfect for a relaxing stroll or a morning workout.
  • 🏞️ Scenic Views: The Petronas Towers rise dramatically in the background, making for amazing photo opportunities.

My Experience at KLCC Park

Our hotel was right next to the towers (Shout out to ASCOTT Star), so visiting KLCC Park was a no brainer. On a warm sunny morning, we set out for a stroll and were instantly greeted by the calming sounds of water, the shade of tropical trees, and wide open spaces.

It felt surreal to walk in such a peaceful park while the iconic Petronas Towers glistened in the background. It’s the kind of place where locals jog, tourists take photos, and families enjoy the outdoors , all blending together in the heart of the city.

I filmed a short walking tour video (linked at the top of the page!) so you can see exactly what it’s like to wander through KLCC Park on a calm morning.

Best Time to Visit KLCC Park

Morning or Evening are the best times to visit. The mornings are cooler and quieter, while evenings bring the magical Lake Symphony Fountain Show at 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 10:00 PM.

🌞 Midday can get hot, especially under the Malaysian sun, but the shaded paths make it bearable for a short walk.

How to Get to KLCC Park

📍 KLCC Park is located in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) area, right beneath the Petronas Twin Towers.

🚇 The easiest way to get there is by taking the LRT Kelana Jaya Line to KLCC Station. From there, it’s just a short walk through Suria KLCC Mall to the park entrance.

🚖 Alternatively, you can use Grab (ride-hailing app) for quick and affordable transport around the city.

KLCC Park sits at the very heart of Kuala Lumpur, so you’ll find plenty of attractions within walking distance:
